Terence Thomas

Terence, otherwise known as “Big Gruuvy”, is originally from the “Big Easy”, New Orleans.  Coming from a musical family whose various relatives play it all, he came by his groove through blood.  As a young child his family moved to Los Angeles.  As he and his brothers grew up, they rehearsed and starting gigging with Pops and from there it was on.

Terence likes to say that his influences are across the board.  From Blues to Gospel to R&B to Jazz to Rock…..he listens and plays it all.   He played and toured with Barry White for over 10 years as both his rhythm and then lead guitarist for the Love Unlimited Orchestra.  He has played with Maxwell, Chante Moore’, Mary Jo of the Mary Jane girls, Dee Dee of Jade, CC White and others just to name a few.  Terence is also an accomplished songwriter and producer, having had several of his songs picked up by Barry and others placed with some up and coming singers and rappers.

Terence was re-named Big Gruuvy for his ability to stay in pocket on most any type of groove and then blow it out when the time comes, making you just sit back and say, “Damn, that was groovin’!”  He plays keyboards, bass and if you ask nicely, he might even sing a little.

He currently has several CD projects that he wrote, performed and produced with several artists.  You can find them at:   www.CDBaby.com/cd/deonda <http://www.CDBaby.com/cd/deonda> , www.soundclick.com/pure <http://www.soundclick.com/pure> and www.soundclick.com/dolann <http://www.soundclick.com/dolann> and others.
